So once again, another victory for ELGC – a big vote of thanks to the ladies who helped field teams throughout the season, especially those who took Annual Leave to represent the club.
On Saturday 15th October Easthampstead Golf Club played Downshire Golf Club for the Matt Carroll Trophy. After much deliberation it was decided to play pairs matchplay, with the front nine holes greensomes and the back nine holes fourball better ball. With 12 points available it required six and a half to secure the trophy and Easthampstead ran out comfortable winners by 8 points to 4. Well done to all those who took part and contributed to a well deserved victory.
What a fantastic day we all had. As always with ELGC ladies played in the best of humor and general good fun. The result was a draw, which really reflected the whole day. The Captain's Pinky team did her proud, as did Vice Captain’s eclectic mix of colours.
Nearest pin winners, Anne B.,Denice and Anita.
Thanks again to all who turned out. Deffinitely one you want to make sure you play in next year.

We started the competition back in April and got off to a good start by beating White Lodge A at Richmond Park. Then, later in April, we met Little Hay C on our home course at Downshire. Then came Hoebridge C, again at Downshire. This win took us into the area final where we played against Farnham Park F, at Farnham Park.
The semi-final was against Farnham Park C and we played at Little Hay.
Then on to the final at Frilford Heath GC where we won on the 18th.
We really enjoyed this competition and will certainly enter again next year.
Congratulations to Riaan who won with a score of 151 finishing his round off with an eagle to win by 3 shots from Kirrill who himself finished with a birdie!
Today the team of Ishbel Thomson, Alex Cram, Suzanne Richards, Ritva Dean and Lynda Atherton (with caddies Linda McLeod, Hazel Rogers, Maureen Barnaville, Fi Hobbs and Barbara Hudson-Reed) played the final at Mill Ride against Donnington Valley and won 3 - 2. A tense and competitive Regional Final against local rivals Downshire GC resulted in a fantastic last gasp victory for the Easthampstead men.
