Dear All,
It was a beautiful day to play golf today. We had the right amount of sunshine, a slight breeze and it was not too hot.
36 players turned up to play and have a fun day.
The nearest the pin prize which was presented by Pat, was won by Kathryn, who seems to be on a roll at the moment.
The result showed that the handicapping system works pretty well. 3 matches were halved, 3 matches were won by the Captain’s ‘Spotty’ team and 3 matches were won by the Vice-Captain’s ‘Stripey’ team, resulting in the Match being an honourable Draw.
Thank you to Penny for being a great Vice and for providing cakes, to Millie , Penny and Barbara T for being fun playing companions, to Karen and Sam who turned up to see us off and helped hand out cards, take photos etc., to Pat for the Nearest the Pin prize and also for conceiving of this amazing match and donating the Trophy, to Chris for making and selling golf towels to raise additional funds for Captain’s Charity, and finally, to all those who played today and who made it such a tight match and in addition raised just over £100 for Bracknell Food Bank.
What an absolutely amazing club this is.
