A History of Easthampstead Golf Club
The club has produced a book to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Over 600 members are mentioned in the text which also includes a comprehensive Roll of Honour documenting the winners in over 2000 competitions. It’s a good read that embraces the character and vibrance of Easthampstead Golf Club.
Bizarre Nights Rituals is the history of Easthampstead Golf Club from its beginning in 1975 to its 50thAnniversary in 2025. It captures the initial birth of the club through the eyes of the founder members and what it was like to be playing golf at the club in the early 1970’s.
Progressing through the years, the achievements of members, the eclectic mix of competitions, social activities and its personality are detailed. The development of the club is described together with the Captains, Presidents and Notable Members. Special rounds are highlighted alongside the club trophies and tours. Easthampstead Ladies and the Juniors are also given prominence. There are even chapters on the club badge, EGC on TV and of course the social side of the club. The large appendices include a brief history of Downshire Complex.
The book has taken over two years to compile. The hardback book with dust cover is 210+ pages printed in full colour on silk paper. It is 210mm square with a gold embossed title on the outside hard cover. The book contains many photographs depicting the last 50 years.

The club is subsidising the book for current members and ex-members, so that the cost of the book is:
£10 for existing members of Easthampstead GC (Mens, Ladies and Juniors), £15 for ex- members and £20 for others.
The book is expected to be available for delivery from 15th December 2024.
